Description
Abstract
Hypertension is currently the leading cause of global cardiovascular mortality and morbidity despite its relatively easy and inexpensive methods of diagnosing. OmniHealth Clinics located in Fresno, CA seek to encourage patients to become more mindful of their blood pressure by offering enrollment into the clinic-wide Blood Pressure Monitoring Program for patients with hypertension. This program uses SmartMeteriBloodPressure® Bluetooth-enabled blood pressure monitoring devices for patients to take at-home blood pressure readings on an assigned schedule, and these results are submitted to OmniHealth’s online database. This study observes the compliance of patients who are enrolled in the OmniHealth at-home blood pressure monitoring program in California’s Central Valley and its potential implications for data collection as well as for other studies that use similar measurements and compliance expectations.
