MindMapp: Revolutionizing Depression Diagnosis and Management through EEG and AI Chatbot Integration
Repository
Description
Depressive disorders are common mental health conditions that affects millions of people worldwide and are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities that were once enjoyable. Research has shown that individuals with depressive disorders exhibit specific electroencephalographic (EEG) signatures that differ from those without depression. 1,2 Mental health apps are being widely used by people with depressive disorders as they offer accessible and convenient resources for managing their mental health. 3 Current consumer-level mental health apps rely solely on subjective data via an AI chatbot and/or biofeedback via phone sensors, and thus provide limited potential for accurate diagnosis and treatment for depressive mood disorders. 3 MindMapp aims to innovate beyond existing application limitations by utilizing objective EEG and sensory data, along with subjective emotional data from an AI chatbot, to provide more accurate diagnoses and efficient coping methods customized for each individual.
